INSURANCE INSTITUTE OF THE WESTERN CAPE (IIWC) HAS RECORD BREAKING FUNDRAISER FOR THE HOMELESS PEOPLE AND DESTITUTE ANIMALS

A night at the oldest building in Cape Town -“The Castle of Good Hope” was attended by a large crowd from the insurance fraternity. A banquet and feast was prepared for the guests in one of the oldest dining rooms in the Castle while they were treated to Jazz music, nuts and drinks in the courtyard of history. It was eerie, yet very special as guests brought jackets for the homeless which were seen hanging up on coat rails under the tunnel.
After drinks in the court yard the guests were escorted up the stairs into the dining room which was decorated to perfection.
Over R 300 000 was raised for the homeless people and destitute animals as Joey Burke led the crowd into a bidding war for prizes and experiences that were very unique. One prize which fetched R 12000 was a night for seven people to sleep at the castle with an option for one of them to sleep in the haunted room. Another was a painting painted by a local pig called Pigcasso which sold for R 15000,00.
People pledged and gave generously and really made a united stand or charity from the Insurance Industry.
