Joey Burke has been auctioneering for 39 years and his passion and enthusiasm for fundraisers is seen by the amounts of money that he has raised for charities across the Western Cape and South Africa.
He is well known for his bubbly, energetic and electric auction methods and does not stop until the maximum amount is achieved. At the end of most of his functions he is not satisfied if he has not exceeded the organisations expectations and the charities are always pleasantly surprised.
During the past decade he has raised over R 40 Million for the likes of Nelson Mandela, Oprah Winfrey, Peter Gabriel , Ronan Keating, Evita Bezuidenhout, Helen Zille and organisations such as the Amy Foundation, Reach for a Dream, Fellows for Cancer and hundreds of worthy causes around South Africa. He has performed on MNET’S television series THE BLOCK and competed in the International auctioneering championships in the United States. Recently he was a competitor on Come Dine With Me South Africa.

The COVID crisis has changed many lives of so many individuals over the past two years and with financial pressure and lack of substantial savings many people were forced into some life changing directions and career changes. JOEY BURKE RAISES MILLIONS OF RANDS FOR THE IKAMVA LABANTU ENDOWMENT FUND AT THE LAUNCH IN HONOUR OF HELEN LIEBERMAN’S 80TH BIRTHDAY
The 27th of June was a very special moment for Ikamva Labantu as they celebrated the 80th birthday of their founder Helen Leiberman. In honour of her birthday,Ikamva Labantu launched their Endowment Fund to make sure that the wonderful organisation had a solid future. An Online Auction and Virtual Zoom event was held to raise funds and people from all over the world participated with such generostiy by pledging, bidding and sending messages of support for Helen and her wonderful children and seniors in the townships. In order to donate, people were asked to light a birthday candle and pledge to the Ikamva Labantu endowment fund . As soon as the Auctioneer started, the pledges could not stop rolling in.. THE CAPE HUNGER PROJECT RAISES OVER R100 000 TO FEED THE POOR AND UNDERPRIVILEGED IN CAPE TOWN

THE PUBLIC GIVE GENEROUSLY AT THE ROHAN BLOOM FOUNDATION LIVE ZOOM AND ONLINE AUCTION
What was said to be one of the most exciting events this year, the Rohan Bloom Foundation Online and Zoom Auction was a tremendous success. With 90 items up for online purchase and 25 chosen for the live zoom event, bidding was electric. Joey Burke took to the zoom platform with passion and his bubbly personality managed to successfully pull bids from people from all over South Africa. What was so interesting about this auction is that the items were unique and the donors were very forthcoming with their generous donations.
