This year the annual Reach for a Dream Foundation had their fundraiser at the Lourensford Estate in Somerset West. It was a family day out with plenty of entertainment for the Children and the adults as well. The food and atmosphere was world class.The auction raised a whopping R 439 000 with generous bidders paying up to R100 000 to go on dream with one of the terminally ill patients. More than 1300 dreams were filled in 2017 and the Reach for a Dream Foundation continues to make terminally ill children’s dreams come true. The video footage and stories of dreams fulfilled touched all our hearts providing a real feel for what they do. RFAD believe in the power of dreams; they encourage children to use their dreams to fight life threatening illnesses and they try, as far as possible, to make these dreams come true. Their vision is to grow the Foundation to enable them to continue giving hope to children fighting life- threatening illnesses through the fulfillment of their dreams and making their national projects available to as many of the children as they can, the projects include:CAMP SUNSHINE, QUEEN FOR A DAY, CAPTAIN COURAGE AND SPECIAL HOSPITAL ENTERTAINERS.
